M.L. Lexi’s Good Reads (or Listening)

The Choice

I’ve read all of Nicholas Sparks’ older books, and have thoroughly enjoyed them—some I downright loved. I can’t seem to get into his most recent work.

The Choice is one of his most recent books I didn’t enjoy. The storyline seems to drag on and the characters are unremarkable.

Travis is flawless and one-dimensional, Gabby comes across equally as unexceptional, and together they didn’t appeal to me as a reader. With such unengaging characters, the story seemed to drag on for too long and made the read a dissatisfying one.

The movie, which is rare for a Nicholas Sparks’ novel, was equally as disappointing.
