Great Expectations

I read Great Expectations, a classic by Charles Dickens, as required reading in junior high school, and it quickly became a favorite book of mine. I’ve recently reread it again, and it remains my favorite book ever.

There’s so much to unpack in this book. From an exciting cast of characters—most of them a bit weird and creepy—to its wonderful plot twists that surprises and satisfies its reader, Great Expectations is a memorable read.

Fun fact, Great Expectations was initially a nine monthly installment written by Charles Dickens from December of 1860 until August 1861 to appear in the periodical founded by him.

There are several film interpretations of this book, one as recent as 2013. My favorite is still the British version that came out in 1946. It’s a black and white version of the movie well worth the watch.
