A Woman of Substance

Barbara Taylor Bradford’s A Woman of Substance is the classic saga of a destitute woman achieving her dreams. It’s a celebration of woman’s triumph against all odds.

I read this book in my twenties and reread it recently, and found it just as engaging.

Taylor Bradford’s character, Emma Harte, faces every possible challenge a woman can. Yet, through all the disappointments, the personal hardships, the failed love affairs throughout her life, Emma musters the strength to flourish. Emma is a relatable, admirable, character who gets under your skin. Her story is an inspiring one.

A Woman of Substance was originally published in 1979 but is as relatable and inspiring today as it was then. The paperback is over eight hundred pages, but I can assure you that you’ll be hard pressed to put it down. It’s a fantastic read for women everywhere.
